History: Hans Schmidt was founded in 1948. At that time Hans Schmidt started in dealing with different textile machines. In 1956 he started to build tension meter. At that time it was only 1 model in 5 ranges. Up to now we have the biggest range of tension meters on the world. We can offer more than 20 different models in 2000 possible variations.
The Schmidt company is a family run company.
The strength of Schmid is, to supply the most suitable tension meter according to the cu-stomerï¿½s request.
During the last 50 years we have sold more than 130.000 tension meters. In 1996 Schmidt was the first tension meter manufacturer to be certified under the international standard DIN EN ISO 9001. This is also an important point, which confirms our lea-dership to be the No 1 in tensionmeter worldwide.
As we are selling our products around the world we have an export rate of nearly 70%.

Nature of Business: We are manufacturing all our tension meters ourselves. These meets are sold around the world through our sales net work, which exists out of exclusive agents and dealers depaning to the country.
Beside the production company, we are also a trading company which buys and resells different test equipments, which are used in textile and wire industries.
